Remember When Life Was Fun?

Remember when we did things because they were fun, NOT because we had too?

Remember when we walked on the beach because we enjoyed it, NOT because it added to our exercise regime or our steps for the week?

Remember when we read a good book because we enjoyed good stories, NOT because we had to or learn something or improve our life?

Remember when we wrote in our journals because we enjoyed it, NOT because we had to finish writing a blog, assignment or book?

Remember when we caught up with our friends and family to enjoy their company, NOT because we wanted them to do something for us?

Remember when we cooked a new dish for the first time because we enjoyed the smell of food, the sound of chopping it up and liked experimenting, NOT because we had to impress anyone or eat super healthy?

Remember when we had fun trying new things, NOT because we had to get it right or do it a certain way?

Remember when we took photos because we noticed something special, NOT because we wanted to get a ‘like’ on Social Media?

Remember when we did something for the first time, we loved it so much and it made us SMILE?

For me – one of the things I have been doing lately is paying attention to money (you can read about that here, here and here). I feel so much more connected to money in my life and am treating it with so much more respect than ever before and really it is so much fun! I feel a little bit like the banker in monopoly 🙂

Questions for Reflection –

  • Remember when life was fun and joyful?
  • What were you being or doing?
  • Are you including those activities or providing that space in your life?
