Bit by bit you get drawn in to the vortex of activities that drain your energy. For example - urgencies that had nothing to do with you, social media or the overwhelming list of things to do at work and your personal life.
Then, all of a sudden the time and your well-intentioned plans are forgotten.

How does Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion work?
Each month you are a member of Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion, you have the opportunity to take time out to align with what matters to you, learn to like and trust your self.
The weekly Small Steps call is the focus of the community. Each week, you will receive a 30-60-minute recording with Jane as your guide. These recordings include many of the things I have learnt during the past 25 years of befriending the mystery and wonder of life, including -
- Inquiry questions and journalling to help you stay focused and take action on what matters most,
- Mindfulness meditations that allow you to become aware of the monkey mind,
- Activities and exercises to deepen awareness and let-go of any resistance to your hearts desire,
- Simple habit ideas to help support you to deepen your own wisdom and centre within your own being, and
- Stories and poetry to feed your own inner guide and wisdom.
On the last Sunday of each month, there will be a themed connection day. These days are based on feedforward from the group and some examples could include "Beginning Again," "Giving Presence" and Q & A
Our secret Facebook group is a great place to share your focus and commitment with other members. That way we can cheer you on from the sidelines 🙂

Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is for the CEO, the teacher, the assistant teacher, the nurse, the business owner, the real estate agent, the sporting coach, the accountant, the human resources manager, business services manager, the receptionist, the mum, the grandmother, the writer, the printer and anyone else who has a successful career and very real time constraints.
It is for the woman who wants to be more, accomplish more, do more, but most of all be present more. It is also for the woman who wants to do less. The woman who wants to undo what they have done and stop pushing to do and allow more being to unfold.
Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is for the woman who is ready to start a new project and bring something new in to the world. That project could be a book, a new business, a course or even transitioning in to a new job.

What Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is NOT...
Small Steps is NOT -
- another blueprint, program or or 7-step course (human beings are too complex and simple for them - yes that is a paradox 🙂 ),
- about being perfect - it is about embracing your humanness and who you truly are wholeheartedly,
- following a program to get certain results. I cannot guarantee what you will receive (it depends on where you are and what you want to focus on for the week), and
- an advice giving space (as you are not broken and do not need fixing). It is about you returning to be the expert in your own life and learning to trust yourself fully.
Frequently Asked Questions
Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is a monthly subscription ($30AUD) or you can also pay the 6-monthly ($150AUD) or yearly fee ($300AUD).
There is no lock-in contract for the monthly subscription. You will be charged monthly if you choose the subscription ($30AUD month) and can stop at any time.
Don't worry I know technology can be challenging and frustrating, so I have made it simple and easy to participate.

Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is about education, (un)learning and you committing and taking time for you each week, not coaching. Participants take responsibility for their own experience and changes in behaviour.
Of course you can! That is precisely why this is online - so we can cater for individual needs and requirements.
The short answer is yes.
The long answer - if you would like for this to happen (i.e. linked Australian Professional Standards for Teachers), you will need to send me a request with your name, the number of weeks you have been a member for as well as the continuing professional development structure you are linking too. Once I receive this information, I can then go over it and link to the standards and create a certificate.
That is 100% up to you! There are community members who commit to exactly one hour per week as that is the sweet spot for them. Then, there are other members who allocate a little more or a little less - it is totally up to you. Also - it could change for you each week 🙂
The themed Connection Days are on the final Sunday of the month, so may also like to put some time aside to participate in those.
You get access to the calls I host. The calls include self inquiry, journalling and exercises. You will also have access to the Small Steps secret online group, whilst you are a member. In this group, I will regularly participate in discussions and you may ask questions whilst you are in there.
The Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion price is in Australian dollars.
We use Stripe and PayPal for our payments, so you will be able to pay in your local currency (and Stripe/PayPal converts it for you). So it doesn't matter where you live in the world, you can join us!
When you are a member, each Friday you will be sent the Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion recording for the week. You can download the recording and listen to it when you would like.
On the last Sunday of the month there will be a Themed Community Day. Details about this day will be shared in the secret online forum.
No, it is not.
Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is an about awareness and developing self-trust, it is not for treatment for any physical or mental health condition. All participants in the community agree to take responsibility for their own experience and the actions they take.
The majority of the Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion community is women, however, it’s not exclusive to women – all genders and gender identifications are welcome. Who doesn't need to step back from the craziness of life, slow down and listen deeply to their hearts? That is a human need. So yes, you are welcome to join the Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion community.
It is important to understand that Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is NOT coaching, mindfulness or psychotherapy training. However, it could be a useful add-on to these as well as education/teacher and human resources training.
Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is all about education - providing tools, strategies and resources to support you to make any changes you choose to and become the expert in your own life and live openheartedly.

Why I created Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion...
Hi - I am Jane Taylor - let me share a little bit about Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion.
At the end of 2014, I made a promise to myself - to be my own best friend by the end of 2015. I created boundaries, broke up with draining habits, allowed myself to stay in bed until I wanted to get up (some days), donated money to charities I wanted to, let go of situations and experiences that were exhausting, allowed myself to start receiving more, found my voice and started speaking up more as well as a number of other aspects.
Today, I feel more like the real Jane than I have in years. Yes, the adventure has been (and is) challenging, however I can see clearly that I was the one who was self-sabotaging my own world through my own fears, distorted thoughts and insecurities from the past. I also want the adventure to keep going and continue to practice living openheartedly and in freedom. However, I also want to continue this adventure in a community of like-minded women, so I can share what I have learnt/unlearnt and continue to focus on what matters. Subsequently, Small Steps was created.
Small Steps to Mindfulness and Compassion is a safe and supportive online professional learning community for women who would like support to take time out for themselves each week by engaging in their life and practising mindfulness and compassion, so they can find the courage to step forward, embrace their worth, release what is no longer serving them and be genuinely happy with the woman they are.
