Reflecting, Releasing and Celebrating 2014…

It’s the end of 2014 and one of the things I like to do at this time of the year is take time out to reflect (I wrote about it in 2013 here). During this process, I like to reflect on as many moments as I can including –

  • the learnings (lessons I have learnt or have been reminded about),
  • where I was at the start of the year and where I am now,
  • things I am ready to let-go of,
  • what and who am I grateful for, and
  • celebrating the steps I have taken this year.

As you reflect on 2014, maybe the following questions will help you. However, please remember as you are answering the questions, it is important to be honest with yourself to see if your answers really are true (only you will know the truth for you) as well as connect with your feelings/emotions. I hope the following questions help you and feel free to share your insights below.

  • What have you learnt this year or have been reminded about?
  • What are you grateful for this year? (you could even start a gratitude jar for 2015!)
  • Are your behaviours/actions in line with your values?
  • What did you do or who did you become this year?
  • What did you want to accomplish or achieve, but didn’t? Is there a reason why you didn’t achieve or accomplish these things? (remember be honest!). Maybe some of these blocks are identified in the 10 forms of cognitive distortions.
  • What are you ready to let go of or let be?
  • Where have you had the most success (remember success is your interpretation and what matters to you) with in 2014?
  • What has been your biggest challenge or frustration in 2014?
  • Where are your finances at as you go in to 2015?
  • What has really worked for you in 2014?
  • What has not worked in 2014?
  • How much have you grown in 2014?
  • Where is your time going now? and is it in line with your values?
  • What are you going to do differently in 2015?
  • What is your focus for 2015? Do you have a special word?
  • Who can support you on your journey in 2015?
  • What are your essential needs as you go in to 2015?

Thanks so much for reading this year – I really appreciate your support 🙂

Warm wishes to you and your family and friends this holiday season.
