There's often confusion surrounding the difference between coaching, counselling, mentoring, and teaching, and the terminology can often get lost in translation.
Life coaching takes aspects from all of the above but is essentially a tool to help the coachee uncover their intentions, dreams, and aspirations, and take steps to move towards them.
Rather than telling someone what to do, when you choose to work with a life coach you'll be uncovering the answers and action steps together.
Is Life Coaching for you?
Now, I know you might be reading this and thinking ‘well, I'm a bit lost in life, but coaching is a bit extreme' and, trust me, I thought the same too.
After a particularly difficult time in my life where I was lost, lonely, and lacking clarity, I thought that engaging with a coach was a bit far-fetched too. But the reason coaching is not extreme, nor far-fetched, but in fact, an ideal solution, is because, regardless of your situation today, coaching will help alter your thought processes to help you look at things in a new light.
Coaching is about more than just having a chat, it's about identifying ways to understand yourself and implementing permanent changes in behaviour patterns to create an empowered and fulfilled life for yourself.
Consider working with a Life Coach if:
- You feel like something is missing from your life but you're not sure what
- You spend every day lacking a sense of fulfilment
- You struggle to define your purpose in life
- You regularly find yourself thinking ‘there must be more to life than this'
- You've lived with an identity (for example as a mum or professional), and that's been taken away from you and you now have no idea who you are
- You want to gain clarity around what you want to achieve in your future.
- You feel unsupported in your decisions
Coaching is for anyone who needs support and that applies to people from all walks of life.
Stuck in a career you hate? Coaching is for you.
Need to create some passion in your life? Coaching is for you.
Feeling like you're not truly connected with what's deep down inside of you? Coaching is for you.
Benefits of Life Coaching
The benefits of life coaching are dependent on your input. I can't stress enough that I don't know you, so I can't yet tell you what you WILL get out of coaching.
I can tell you that in my experiences from hundreds of previous clients, it is possible that you will start to see improvement in the following areas in your life if you're committed.:
You'll learn how to honour your true self and walk in her shoes with pride and conviction.
When you engage with me as a coach, performance in all areas of your life will improve as you work only on things you're passionate about.
Self-worth and self-compassion.
Stuck in a dead-end job? Attracting toxic relationships? I will help rid you of everything that no longer serves you, so you can make room for things which enhance your life in every way you deserve.
Sabotaging behaviour and negative thought patterns are one of the biggest causes of illness. I will help you identify the causes of these to reduce stress which will improve your overall health and wellbeing.
