Making the Most of Your Life Now

Many years ago, I came across the quote by Dr Wayne Dyer – “Don’t die with the music inside of you.” That quote really touched my heart and was part of a deeper reflection on what living a whole-heartedly connected life meant to me.

The Time You Have

A past client sent me through the following clip “The Time You Have” (In Jelly Beans) a number of years back and I decided to share it as it relates to being more present and living life now.

Today – in Australia (where I live) the life expectancy for a female is 85 years of age. This year, I will be turning 50. So if I look at that (in relation to the statistics), it means I have already lived over half my life and have approximately 12775 days left (35 years x 365) or 1820 weeks (35 x 52).

What about you? Does finding out your average life expectancy interest you? If so, the average life expectancy ages are located here, so you can work it out if you choose to.

What Does this Mean?

In essence, the meaning you give this information is up to you. It is based on your life experiences up until now. For me, it helps me to remember that life is for living. And for me that means focusing on the contribution I want to make (not what other people want), aligning with my values and being with the people who value me for me and share similar values.

It reminds me that I get choose my response to life instead of react and focus on the things I have control over (not the things I cannot).

It reminds me to focus on taking care of my own needs and wholistic wellbeing (not just my career, which is one part of my life).

And it reminds me to most of the time I have been given NOW, so I can live a whole-heartedly connected life and stand in my own power around what that means to me.

What does it mean for you? Feel free to share any insights below.
