This past month our book club book was Tuesdays with Morrie: An Old Man, a Young Man, and Life’s Greatest Lessonby Mitch Albom. When I heard about the book, I was excited by the length of the (it was a short read 137 pages), however as I continued to read, there were many pearls of wisdom encompassed inside.
It reminded me about the book The Top Five Regrets of the Dying as well as some of the insights I have written about previously, including –
- Patience – It Does Not Happen Overnight!
- The Gift of Giving
- Compassion
- Trust – What is it for You?
- The Impermanence of Permanence…
- Fixing Things or Trying Too Hard..
- Trying to Get it Right!
- Facing Reality One Moment at a Time
- Allowing and Accepting Life – As Is!
The book reminded me about was to continue to stay aware of my values and take care of my essential needs.
Some of the other things the book reminded me of were –
- “The most important thing in life is to give out love, and to let it come in.” p.39
- “Once you learn how to die, you learn how to live.” p.56
- “People are only mean when they’re threatened.” p.99
- “..there is no such thing in life as too late.” p.122
Have you read the book? If so, what were you reminded about?
